“We’re gonna have to fight,” Kora tells a group of farmers in the newest trailer for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon. As such, the main character (played by Kingsman: The Secret Service star Sofia Boutella) needs to find a motley crew to go up against the evil Motherworld in the sci-fi flick premiering on Netflix in December.
Kora’s ragtag team will apparently consist of the mercenary Kai (Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunman), General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), Nemesis (Doona Bae), and others. The trailer starts with Kora living a peaceful life with the “people of Veldt,” according to the film’s synopsis. Unfortunately, those farmers have unknowingly crossed the Motherworld, and Kora’s past catches up with her shortly thereafter.
This leads to all sorts of action featuring laser guns, laser swords, spaceships, and odd alien creatures for Rebel Moon – Chapter One: A Child of Fire. If you didn’t know, this movie was created from Snyder’s Star Wars pitch that was shot down.
The first Rebel Moon trailer debuted at Gamescom back in August. And earlier this month, Synder revealed that Rebel Moon actually shares a story universe with Army of the Dead.
The first part of Rebel Moon will premiere December 22 on Netflix. The second part, subtitled The Scargiver, is planned to come out April 19.
This month has featured a handful of big Netflix reveals, including the first trailer for the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series and late 2024 release date for Arcane: Season 2.
