Blizzard’s annual BlizzCon event is known primarily for its showcase of the company’s games, but it’s also a major destination for cosplayers. BlizzCon 2023 was no exception, featuring a wide array of elaborate costumes based on Blizzard’s games, including Overwatch 2, World of Warcraft, and Diablo 4.
Throughout the event, Blizzard announced three new expansions for World of Warcraft, a new hero that’ll be coming to Overwatch 2, as well as a new expansion coming to Diablo 4 late next year. Even though there was a lot announced at the convention, what also made this particular BlizzCon special was that it was the first time it was held in person again for the first time in years. So that meant, in addition to everything Blizzard had displayed, lots of cosplayers would show up and show off their latest creations.
Like Anime Expo or San Diego Comic-Con, these cosplayers spend months crafting their cosplays with fine detail, or sometimes it’s something they put together last second with nothing but duct tape. Nonetheless, each of these cosplays is awesome in its own way and deserves to be noticed. We’ve compiled some of the best cosplay we saw at the show below, complete with links to the creators who had one to share.
Since the convention was based around Blizzard properties, there were plenty of characters running around the show, such as Junker Queen from Overwatch 2, Inarius from Diablo 4, and even World of Warcraft quest givers. But that’s just a small sample of what characters roamed the halls throughout the two-day convention. Did you attend the convention? If so, let us know which cosplays stood out to you in the comments below!
