This dark story is set in Batman’s future long after he has retired from fighting crime, but after one fateful night that reignites the beast inside of him, Bruce Wayne suits up once again to bring justice to Gotham City. More Batman adventures

For more recent releases, Amazon has two excellent Batman collections. DCeased is largely a DC Universe event starring Batman and his allies as they battle a zombie apocalypse. When a mysterious techno-organic virus is unleashed on Earth, 600 million people go on a rampage and swarm the planet. Faced with overwhelming odds, it’s not long before the Justice League also falls victim to this plague, which turns people into mindless killers bent on death and destruction. This box set collects DCeased, DCeased: Unkillables, DCeased: Dead Planet, DCeased: Hope At World’s End, and DCeased: War of the Undead Gods.

Another brand-new release is Batman: One Bad Day. Already discounted to almost half its regular retail price, this series of one-shots focuses on Batman’s greatest villains and examines why they’re drawn to the darkness of Gotham. The Riddler, Two-Face, the Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Bane, Clayface, and Ra’s al Ghul all get their moment in the spotlight from these stories which feature some of DC’s best artistic and writing talent.

Prefer something bigger to read? DC’s Batman omnibus editions are meaty tomes of graphic novel content to consume. Grant Morrison’s run is perfect for anyone looking for a Batman experience that explores the weirder side of that character, and includes riveting tales like Batman and Son, Batman: The Black Glove, and Batman R.I.P. If you’re after a deconstruction of Batman that pulls no punches, Morrison’s run is the perfect reading material.

Alternatively, there’s Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Batman saga, which goes deep into the psyche of Batman. These stories introduced the Court of Owls, a secret cabal that ran Gotham City from the shadows, and stories that challenged Batman’s status quo as he was pushed to his limits. Lastly, don’t miss out on Batman: The Hush Saga.

Another all-time Dark Knight classic, Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s story has been collected alongside other stories that featured the villainous Hush as he plotted a game of revenge against Bruce Wayne. This is a recent release and it has over 1,200 pages for you to read through while admiring the detailed art inside.
