Lucasfilm has announced that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is coming to Disney+ pretty soon. The action-adventure movie featuring Harrison Ford in what could be his final outing as Indiana Jones is coming to the streaming service on December 1.
Not only is the movie debuting that day on Disney+, but there will also be a feature-length documentary arriving alongside it called Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford. You can check out a trailer for the documentary below.
Timeless Heroes is directed by Laurent Bouzereau, whose previous directing credits include the “making of” videos for the previous Indiana Jones movies. This newest documentary will dig into Ford’s casting as Indiana Jones, the cultural impact of the movies, and more about Ford’s life and career. It will include interviews with Ford, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and James Gold, as well as previously unseen footage from Ford’s career.
The Dial of Destiny came to theaters in May and earned more than $380 million globally. Reports suggested that the movie might struggle to make a profit, but box office performance is just one piece of the equation in terms of overall revenue and profit for a given property.
In addition to Ford as Jones, The Dial of Destiny stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, and Boyd Holbrook. The previous entries in the series, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, are also available on Disney+.
